Boss Laser Settings Chart and Guide

There are many reasons why you might like the Boss Laser. Asides from having tough features, it can almost cut or engrave any material. But before you can enjoy this performance, it would help if you adjusted some settings.

Here is a chart that can help you adjust the Boss laser for engraving and cutting various materials. Besides, we have also added a guide to help you understand the workings of the device.

Boss Laser Settings for Acrylic (Engraving)

If you want to engrave acrylic, you will have to consider the watt used. For instance, if your project involves 65W, you should use power at 25%, speed at 350, and interval scan at 0.065. Luckily, you can use these parameters to work on acrylic of any thickness

As you cut through ¼” acrylic, use power at 80%, speed at 10mm/s while the wattage stays at 65W. For 100W, use 80% power and speed at 15 mm/s.

Any thickness of balsa wood engraves at 65W. But with this wattage, the power should stay at 25 %. If you prefer working with 100W, the power can remain at 20.

With 65W, you can cut through ⅛ ” balsa wood. For the best results, allow the power to stay at 60% . As for 150W ( with the ⅛” thickness) , keep the power at 50% while the speed stays at 25 mm/s.

If you are working with any thickness of birch wood, you can use either 65W, 100W, or 150 W. As for the power, it stays at 35%, 25%, and 20%

Cutting birch wood at 65W requires 60% power and 25 mm/s. As for using 100W, the power stays at 55 while the speed remains at 25.

If you are engraving birch plywood, use either 65W, 100W, or 150W. Then use a power of 30, 25 and 20 % respectively.

You can use 65W for ¼” birch plywood while the power stays at 85%  As for the speed, keep the machine going at 10 mm/s
