QoS Router Setting for Best Speed
Here are the steps for adjusting the QOS settings on various brands of routers. But before using our suggestions, it would help if you checked the router of your manual for more advice.
QoS Settings for Asus Router
- Go to a device connected to your ASUS router
- Launch your preferred browser on the device
- Head to www.asusnetwork.net
- Type admin into the username field of the login page
- Type admin into the password field of the login page
- Click on Traffic Manager
- Make sure it is in Automatic Mode ( look at the drop menu beside the Traffic analysis header)
- Switch on QoS
- Go to the Upload/bandwidth field and type in the upload speed provided by your service provider
- Go to the Download bandwidth field and type in the download speed provided by your service provider
- Click the Save Settings tab
If you want to adjust the Internet speed for higher gaming speeds, then you can try the following steps :
- Go to the drop-down menu at the top of the screen and choose User defined QOS rule
- Click on the Service Name tab and select the name of your video game
- Click on the “+” sign to set the Priority from Highest to High
- Click on Apply
- Exit Settings
If you want to get higher upload speeds for your ASUS router via QOS settings:
- Select User Defined Priority from the drop-down menu at the upper left corner of the screen
- Set the required attributes with the following tables

- Select the Add button
- Choose Apply
If you are using the Netgear NetDumas OS, you can choose the following QoS features to improve your internet speed:
- Congestion Control (prevents a device from taking all the bandwidth that affects gaming on your device)
- Open the browser on the connected device
- Type 192.168. 88.1 into the address bar.
- Type admin into the user name and password fields to open the interface
- Scroll to QoS
- Select the three lines near Congestion Control
- Choose Set Bandwidth Speed
- Choose Auto Detect
- Go to the Apply tab and choose Auto Enable
- Click the Auto Setup tab or move the Download and Upload sliders ( red and blue lines) to 70%
- Bandwidth Allocation ( for allocating bandwidth to preferred devices or allocation)
- Open the browser on the connected device
- Type 192.168. 88.1 into the address bar.
- Type admin into the user name and password fields to open the interface
- Scroll to QoS
- Scroll to Bandwidth Allocation
- Go to the colorful shape ( polygon)
- Choose your preferred application e.g Gaming, Media, Chat e.t.c or Choose your preferred device e.g. PC, Phone
- Select the Download tab
- Drag the numbers to your preferred bandwidth size
- Select the Upload tab
- Drag the numbers to your preferred bandwidth
- Click on Update distribution
- Exit Settings
QoS Settings TP-LINK
Here are the settings for adjusting the QOS settings on TP-Link routers. But before you can use these adjustments, make sure your connected mobile device has the TP-Link Tether app or TP-Link Deco app.
- Launch any of the above-listed apps on your device
- Scroll to the More tab
- Select QoS – Enable QOS
- Choose the bandwidth for the QoS feature provided by your internet service provider
- Choose your preferred device for prioritization
