Instant Pot Temperature Settings Guide

Here are the temperature settings for the Instant Pot. But before using our suggestions, we recommend that you check the owner’s manual for additional advice. Now let’s get started.

1. Meat/Stew

Soup: This option allows you to boil soup at the right temperature. While using this setting, you can get a temperature of 230 °F.

2. Slow Cook

If you want to slow-cook your food, this option serves as the ideal setting to choose. Here you have temperature ranges under three groups: Normal (190 – 200°F), Less (180 – 190 °F), and More (200 to 210°F)

3. Saute

With the Saute button, you can adjust the Instant Pot to three temperature ranges. These settings include Normal (320 – 349 °F), More (347 – 410 °F), and Less to 275 and 302 °F.

4. Yogurt

On the Instant Pot, the Yoghurt button allows you to prepare homemade yogurt at the ideal temperature. Under this setting, you can get temperatures ranging from Less ( 86 – 93.2 °F), Normal (96.8 – 109.4°F), and More ( 160° – 180 °F). 

5. Sterilize

With the Sterilize option, you can set the temperature with different settings which include Less ( 181°F), Normal ( 230°F), and More settings.

6. Poultry

If you are using the Instant Pot to prepare any bird, it would help if you choose the right settings. These settings include “More” or “Less”.

7. Soup

The Soup button allows you to prepare soups at perfect temperatures. With this setting, you can prepare the dish at Less ( 275 – 302 °F), Normal ( 320 – 349°F), and More ( 374 – 410°F) 

8. Multigrain

Do you want to cook rice asides from the white variants? If yes, choose the settings to get temperatures between 140 – 248 °F. 

9. Keep Warm

Keep Warm Mode helps the food stay warm especially after cooking. By using this mode, you can get temperatures of 104 – 194 °F. 

10. Pressure Cook / Manual

On the Instant Pot, this setting allows you to adjust the temperatures to Low ( 229 – 233°F) and High ( 239 – 244°F). 

11. Beans/ Chilli

This Mode offers similar temperatures as the Pressure/ Manual function. Under this setting, you can get temperatures such as Low ( 229 – 233°F) and High ( 239 – 244°F). 

What Temperature is Low Setting on the Instant Pot?

The Slow Cooking Mode comes as the lowest setting on the Instant Pot. With this setting, you can get temperatures between 190 – 210 °F. 

How Do I Set the Temperature and Time on the Instant Pot?

If you want to set the temperature on the Instant Pot:

Add the Food: Cut, season and add the food to the inner pot. But as you perform this task, work with the measurements recommended in the Instant Pot cooking guide (if provided). Then cover the pot with a standard or tempered glass lid.

Choose Your Preferred Function: Look for your preferred function on the control panel of the pot.  As soon as you find the button, hit it to start cooking

Time The Cooker: Choose the preferred time for cooking your meal. You can start by using the + or – button on the control panel.

Use the Adjust Button: According to the recipe, choose Normal, More, or Less. After choosing this setting, the cooking process continues for the selected time. When the process ends, the cooker beeps and switches to the “Keep Warm” for as long as 10 hours.

How to Use Soup Setting on the Instant Pot

If you want to switch on the Soup setting on the Instant Pot, use the following steps:

Add the Food: Cut, season, and add the food to the inner pot. But as you perform this task, work with the measurements recommended in the Instant Pot cooking guide (if provided). Then cover the pot with a standard or tempered glass lid.

Choose the Soup  Function: Look for your preferred function on the control panel of the pot.  As soon as you find the button, hit it to start cooking.

Set the Pressure: Press the Soup button repeatedly to switch between More, Normal or Less. 

Adjust the Time: Use the + or – buttons to set the time on the pressure cooker.
