Sometimes the router might have issues and lose this speed. However, there are various settings by which anyone can solve this problem.
Are you looking for an easy way to increase the speed on the Linksys router? If yes, here are some settings that will help with your goal.
Linksys Router Settings for Best Speed

2. Use the Right Location
As you setup up your Linksys router, place it on a table or cabinet at the center of the room. For the best results, make sure the router is far from walls, heavy appliances, and fish tanks. When it comes down to it, such items tend to block the Wifi signals and reduce the router speed.
3. Reduce the Number of Connected Smart Devices
Do not connect too many devices to your Linksys network. Under normal conditions, such items might consume your bandwidth and reduce your internet speed. To get a faster connection, allow a few devices to be connected to your Linksys network at a time.
4. Setup Your Password for Better Security
If you haven’t set up your WiFi password, then you might end up with slower internet. After all, an unsecured network allows strangers to consume bandwidth and cause slower internet. However, a Wifi password can make things secure and faster.
To secure your router with a password:
- Open your browser and type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar
- Ignore the User Name field
- Enter admin into the Password field
- Click on Administration on the homepage
- Type in your new password to the Router Password field
- Type the new password ( again) into the Router Password “Confirmation” field
- Click on Save Settings
- Select Wireless – Wireless Security – Security Mode – WPA2 – Personal
- Enter your preferred passphrase
- Click Save Settings
5. Avoid Other Electronics
Keeping a distance of around 1-2 meters between the Linksys router and certain items can help improve the Internet speed. Such items include microwaves, electric wires, security lights, and baby monitors.
